About Us

The GPST society was set up by Paul Bailey and Mike Norbury in 2007 in response to various unmet needs voiced by GP trainees. It is therefore firmly ‘by trainees, for trainees’ and we actively seek ways to support GPSTs and develop resources which may be of use to them in their training and working life.
The committee hopes to help trainees through identifying and solving problems that arise and will be an advocate for GPSTs in liaising with the Royal College, the Lister and other statutory bodies.
This website aims to share information on training or employment issues between trainees as well as providing a forum for FAQs, exam tips and collective problem-solving.
In addition, we recognise that GP registrars can often feel isolated from their peer group compared to hospital posts and hope to develop the social side of the society, through regular meetings and events.
If you have ideas for what else the society could do or would like to contribute in any way, please contact us…
